The swift progress of artificial intelligence (AI) is fundamentally altering the terrain of drug discovery, carrying the substantial potential to accelerate the pinpointing of new drugs and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the drug development process. Across various stages of drug discovery, AI methodologies are proving instrumental: While AI’s integration into drug discovery remains relatively nascent, it holds the potential to revolutionize the field. Recent strides in AI technology have enabled the resolution of complex challenges, such as identifying targets for refractory ailments and engineering drugs with heightened efficacy and reduced toxicity. The trajectory of AI in drug discovery appears promising. Its influence is poised to intensify, driving expedited drug discovery, refining the efficiency of the developmental journey, and hastening the availability of novel treatments for patients.
