摘要

Biochar, derived from environmental waste, is a sustainable and versatile product widely employed for the removal of diverse organic and inorganic pollutants. The choice of raw material and pyrolysis conditions significantly impact the physico-chemical and functional characteristics of biochar, tailoring it for various applications. Fipronil, an environmentally harmful pollutant, is addressed in this comprehensive review, focusing on the utilization of different biochar types for its removal from both aqueous and soil environments. The review encompasses discussions on how the raw material and pyrolysis process affect the physico-chemical properties of biochar, as well as the eco-friendliness and cost-effectiveness, which play crucial roles in influencing its adsorptive properties and practical applications.
