Microbial Biodiversity and Bioremediation: A Systematic, Biological and Metabolic Engineering Tool

摘要

Bioremediation is the process of degrading and removing pollutants from the environment by utilizing living organisms. Now a days utilization of microbes in bioremediation has grown in popularity and effective technique, for treating contaminated environments. Bacteria are the most widely used in bioremediation due to their capacity to break down a wide range of pollutants. Microorganisms break down complex organic substances into simpler components with the help of different catalysts during the biodegradation process. There are two types of biodegradation processes: aerobic and anaerobic. Different factors are involved in this process like the type of contamination, type of microbes utilized and environmental conditions such as temperature and pH, etc. Some contaminants degrade relatively easily, while others are more difficult and may require the use of more specialized microorganisms. The type of microbe utilized in bioremediation might also have an impact on the process. Different microorganisms have different metabolic pathways and enzymes, so their ability to break down certain contaminants can vary. Furthermore, some microorganisms may be more tolerant of environmental factors such as temperature and pH, which can affect their bioremediation effectiveness. Most microorganisms have a small range of optimal growth and metabolic conditions. As a result, it is critical to guarantee that the ambient conditions for the microorganisms utilized in bioremediation are adequate. Bioremediation has been utilized to clean up contaminated locations such as soil, groundwater, and surface water and can also be used to remove a wide range of toxins, including some that are difficult to treat using traditional approaches. Bioremediation has shown to be an efficient and popular approach for treatment of contaminated locations. There are various advantages to using bioremediation over traditional remediation approaches. It is frequently less expensive and environment friendly than traditional approaches. More research is needed to optimize the use of microbes in bioremediation of new toxic contaminant of environment and develop treatment techniques.
