This chapter elaborates on how to select T- or Z-scores according to sex. This chapter also presents cases that illustrate how to determine the correct diagnostic classification based on BMD. Finally, a brief description of the application of vertebral fracture assessment to assist in diagnosing vertebral fractures is provided.
