摘要

This study investigates the potential use of a synthesized magnetic nanocomposite, NiO/CoFe2O4, to adsorb DNA on its surface. Among many other tissue samples of mammals, liver tissue is known to contain a high density of nuclei and shows the presence of a large number of genetic materials leading to a good amount of DNA extraction. Therefore, DNA extraction has been performed using liver tissue of chicken where conventional Phenol–Chloroform–Isoamyl alcohol (PCI) method is used to extract DNA which is then adsorbed on magnetic nanocomposites to understand the adsorbing capabilities of nanocomposite that can be utilized to design more effective DNA isolation protocols. The developed magnetic nanocomposite was synthesized using combustion and sol–gel method and was characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). This magnetic nanocomposite shows good adsorption potential, and this advancement holds great promise for streamlining the extraction protocols, ultimately aiding in more efficient genetic research.
