Stepwise Mathematical Modeling, Simulation of Photovoltaic Solar Module/Array Using MATLAB/Simulink and Study of the Effects of Partial Shading on PV Array

摘要

Vikram solar ELDORA VSP.72.330.03.04 PV module is used for modeling of solar PV module with the help of MATLAB/Simulink software. P–V and I–V characteristic curves are derived from simulation for the chosen module with an output power of 329.7 W and are compared with the reference technical specifications. The effect of temperature, solar radiation, shunt resistance, and series resistance on the performance of solar electric power generation has been determined. A single diode model with parallel and series resistors has been used to achieve desired accuracy (% Error < 1). Additionally, the study investigates shading effects on solar PV arrays and its influence on various characteristics. The developed simulation model’s output matches with the referenced model.
