Exploring Multivariate Chemometric Tool for Simultaneous Determination of Erectile Dysfunction Drugs in Pharmaceutical Formulation

Nowadays, various chemometric techniques are increasingly employed to analyze intricate binary and ternary mixtures in the pharmaceutical domain. These methods rely on advanced instrumentation and computer systems to acquire and process spectral data. Consequently, they present a noteworthy alternative to chromatographic techniques. The analysis of dapoxetine hydrochloride (DAPO) and Tadalafil (TADA) combinations is challenging because of the severe overlap of their spectra. The proposed UV-spectrophotometric assisted partial least squares (PLS) regression method was proven effective for resolving such an overlapping spectrum. This work used PLS for the chemometric analysis of the data, and the parameters related to the chemometric approaches were improved. This study presents a report on the simultaneous quantification of DAPO and TADA in tablet formulation by applying chemometric method utilizing UV-spectrophotometry. The spectral data of DAPO and TADA were acquired at different concentrations between their respective linear ranges of 6–30 and 2–10 µg/ml. These spectra were then applied to a pharmaceutical formulation in tablet dosage form. The recovery study's findings indicated that there was no interference found with the excipients. The suggested method exhibits simplicity, efficiency, and inexpensive, rendering it suitable for implementation as an alternative quality control analytical tool of bulk and combined formulations.
