Analysing the Factors Influencing the High Dropout Rate of MOOCs Based on NVivo Qualitative
摘要
The massive open online course (MOOC) is a new course model that has emerged in the field of open education in recent years. After the New Crown epidemic in 2020, the total number of MOOC courses and the number of learners in Chinese universities are also increasing, but along with this is the high dropout rate of MOOC courses. The author tracked a total of 152 students enrolled in classes 15 to 19 at Y University and used NVivo qualitative software to code and analyse texts related to the reasons for dropping out of MOOC courses for 152 students to study the factors influencing the high dropout rate of MOOC courses. Based on the analysis results, the dropout factors are specifically described in terms of learners, MOOC courses, and MOOC learning platforms.
