Systems Approaches in Identifying Disease-Related Genes and Drug Targets
摘要
Target discovery is the first crucial stage in the target drug identification and discovery pipeline. For a better understanding of the underlying causes of diseases and the therapeutic efficacies of medicines, systems-based techniques are gaining significance. The conventional method of compiling data from single isolated layers does not always yield useful conclusions. A developing subject that aids in the identification of novel therapeutic targets and biomarkers is systems biology. It uses new, cutting-edge strategies to predict probable molecular interactions by combining omics data from the genomic, proteomic, transcriptional, and metabolic layers in order to overcome the aforementioned challenges, thereby, mitigating the spread of disease via enhancing treatment and drug delivery techniques. Combining predictive and computational models with drug delivery planned by control regulations can enhance therapeutic performance. In this chapter, different systemic approaches identify disease biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
