Recent advances in genetic technologies have identified various genetic risk factors, contributing to the complex nature of RA with a polygenic inheritance pattern. Precision medicine has the potential to improve RA patient outcomes by utilizing a patient's genetic makeup to customize medical therapies. By assessing a patient's genetic risk factors, clinicians can predict susceptibility to RA and select personalized treatment strategies, potentially identifying new drug targets and developing more effective therapies with fewer side effects. As precision medicine continues to evolve, the integration of genetic technologies and our expanding understanding of the pathophysiology of RA present exciting opportunities to provide a more targeted and personalized approach to the management of RA, leading to better patient outcomes.
