China's Strategic Partnership with Bangladesh: India's Reaction and Global Migration Effects
摘要
China is investing heavily in various large infrastructure projects and has strategic relations with Bay of Bengal littoral states such as Bangladesh. China-Bangladesh relations span several areas, from trade to strategy, from energy security to infrastructure. In contrast, India considers Bangladesh as its traditional security backdrop and sphere of influence. India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi wants to counter Chinese engagement, although it will be a major challenge for him to overtake China’s position in the South Asian region. However, both India and China are trying to engage Bangladesh through investment in various sectors, maintaining security ties and diplomatic speed to gain a leading position in this region.
