Revisiting International Migration Governance

The governance of international migration is the set of laws, regulations, and practices that govern the movement of people across international borders. In recent years, the issue of international migration has become more complex and contentious. Large-scale migration and displacement pose significant challenges to governments and societies worldwide. To overcome these obstacles and create a more comprehensive and effective framework for controlling migration, international migration policy needs to be rethought. The aim of this chapter is to critically examine existing policies and practices, identify opportunities for improvement, and find new ways to better meet the needs of migrants, their host communities, and the global community.
