Recent Techniques Used in Characterization of Crop Microbiomes
摘要
Research on the microbiome in modern agriculture has become very important to understand the interactions between microorganisms and their host crop in order to generate more efficient strategies that lead to sustainable agriculture. Next-generation sequencing technologies have greatly contributed to the understanding of the microbiome by providing more robust analyses. In combination with omics (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics) and more recently metatranscriptomics and metaproteomics, they generate a more holistic view on the contribution of the microbiome in crops, from microbial diversity, gene function, protein–protein interactions and metabolite production. In this chapter, we will review the most recent t in microbiome research and their impact on the study of the crop microbiome.
