Beneficial Microbes in Soil and Plant Nutrition

An intense cropping technique drains the soil of essential plant nutrients, which results in indicators of nutrient deficiency in plants and diminished crop production and quality. To maintain the rhizosphere healthy, diverse natural beneficial microbes play important roles as soil builders to boost the soil’s bioavailability and provide the essential nutrients for growth. It has been recognized that natural microorganisms such as mycorrhizal fungi, nitrogen-fixing symbiotic bacteria, and phosphate-solubilizing microbes are soil-friendly because they perform a number of functions, such as improving mineral nutrition and digesting organic waste and inorganic nutrients’ adherence and absorption from physical surfaces. Utilizing diverse beneficial microbial inoculums in the soil can improve soil quality and act as a suppressant for illnesses that are transmitted via the soil. In this chapter, we focus on the role of microbes in preserving soil health, the role of PGPB in the fixation of nitrogen, the function of arbuscular mycorrhiza in soil fertility, and the role of Actinomycetes in the solubilization of phosphate and fixing nitrogen. Finally, guarantee long-term soil health maintenance and microbial adaption by advising farmers at a commercial level.
