Renewable Energy in India—Policy and Regulatory Framework
摘要
This chapter brings out the institutional structure of the renewable energy sector in India, elucidating on the key policies, regulations and the instruments used towards promoting the sector in the country. These have been segregated into three sub-heads—Promotional Instruments (Resource Assessment, Preferential tariff, RPO-REC Scheme, DFI), Fiscal Instruments (Subsidies, Accelerated Depreciation, Income Tax, credit Instruments, Carbon Markets) and Business Enablers (Permits and Approvals, Solar Parks and Capacity Auctions, Green Energy Open Access). It has a dedicated section which chronicles the growth of wind and solar power sectors in India. The chapter ends with a discussion on energy policies of Germany, Japan, and the United States of America.
