The chapter begins with topics related to the key applied anatomy of the esophagus. The physiology of esophageal motility and lower esophageal sphincter is discussed along with current concepts of testing for acid reflux and esophageal motility and impedance. Common clinical problems like GERD and Achalasia cardia are discussed along with the applications of third-space endoscopy.
