Research on the Detection Method of Ancient Drainage System in the Palace Museum

The ancient drainage system of the Palace Museum has undergone multiple repairs and expansions throughout the dynasties, but it still retains its original layout and has important cultural value. Due to the complex terrain of rainwater ditches, the situation inside the ditches cannot be accurately estimated, which poses significant difficulties in daily management and protection. By using methods such as data research, on-site investigation, and robot detection, the main ditch, secondary ditch, and branch ditch of the Six Western Palaces area of the Palace Museum were detected, sensed, and data collected, achieving the transformation from typical scenes to universality. On the basis of fully clarifying the current situation, efficacy, and value of rainwater ditches, a detailed and reasonable protection plan is formulated to fully ensure the long-term safety of the ancient drainage system and the historic building of the Palace Museum. The comprehensive control of the layout, structural form, elevation system, degree of disease status, and drainage capacity. The purpose is to provide a reference basis for predicting the risk and preparing emergency plans.
