Mathematical Model of Mass Transfer in Fractured Media

To model fluid dynamics, mass transfer, and other relevant physical phenomena, it is essential to mathematically express the underlying physics. The conservation principles govern nearly all the physical phenomena of interest discussed in this article, and they are described by partial differential equations that reflect these principles. Specifically, the momentum equations reflect the conservation of linear momentum, while the energy equation expresses the conservation of total energy. This chapter focuses on the derivation of a typical conservation equation and its mathematical properties.
