Basic Process of Mass Transfer in Fractured Media

Mass transfer in fractured media can occur by molecular diffusion and advection. Molecular diffusion is mass transport on a microscopic scale due to a difference in concentration, i.e., from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration. In accordance with the transport properties of miscible impurities, this chapter mainly presents the basic mass transfer processes in saturated fractured media.
