Lun: The Lunli Substance of State-Family Civilization

In Chinese discourse, lun is one of the basic concepts that are explained but left unexplained, and it is difficult to find its exact counterpart in heterogeneous cultures. If it must be expressed in English, the most sensible strategy is to transliterate it as “lun.” However, although it is “absolute dao,” it can and must be told of. In a nutshell, lun is a transcendent substance of ultimate concern which emphasizes being engaged with society; it is a Chinese discourse for the ethical substance in the civilizational state-family path and system.
