Prediction of Tunnel Rockburst Classification Using RVI Index Method and Analytic Hierarchy Process

Rockburst is one of the main hazards in underground engineering construction in rocky mountainous areas. In order to accurately and reliably predict rock burst hazards, this paper proposes a classification system for rock bursts in tunnels based on the RVI index method and the analytic hierarchy process, using four influencing factors, namely stress control factor Fs, rock petrophysical factor Fr, rock mass system stiffness factor Fm and geologic structure factor Fg, as evaluation indicators. The results show that the classification results based on the RVI index method and the analytic hierarchy process are better than those obtained by theoretical criteria alone. Finally, it was applied to the Dengloushan Tunnel and the results show that the method has high accuracy and reliability for rockburst prediction, It provides a new basis for rockburst prediction in tunnel construction.
