Cognitive Domain: A New Analytical Framework of C2 in Joint Operation

In order to grasp the operation law of C2 (Command and Control) in joint operations under intelligent conditions, according to the high dimensionality of the cognitive domain, it is proposed that the cognitive domain should be used as a new analytical framework. Cognitive domain is a new cognitive space formed by man-machine combination, which makes the C2 show the characteristics of virtual guidance, complexity and elasticity. In modern warfare, the main task of C2 is to realize the three domains integrated joint operation, which requires the coordination of the internal relations of the three domains in a flexible and diverse way, the construction of C2 information system in a complex way, the use of artificial intelligence technology as the core support force, and the fight for hearts and minds as the fundamental purpose of the battle.
