The simple pursuit of excellent weapon performance was far from enough in the warfare. They should also pay attention to the comprehensive effectiveness of indicators, including reliability and effectiveness, because the reliability and effectiveness of weapons and equipment will directly affect the mission success rate and operational effectiveness. As the military continues to modernize its information infrastructure, the proportion of electronic information equipment gradually increases. The system composition is more complex and has higher technical content now. The role of electronic information equipment on the battlefield is becoming increasingly important, and the integrity of such equipment has higher requirements. Driven by this demand, the timeliness and accuracy of electronic information equipment for maintenance support needs to be further improved. The Command information System belongs to a kind of the large complex system. The efficient fault diagnosis methods are the important guarantee for the continuous, safe, and reliable operation of the system. In order to meet the actual needs of electronic information system fault diagnosis, the development status of fault diagnosis methods at home and abroad was analyzed. In addition, The propagation mechanism of the command information system coupling software and hardware fault was analyzed. The technology of condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of information network in electronic information system were studied. And the fault diagnosis method and development trend of electronic information equipment were explored. These researches can provide new ideas for the condition monitoring and fault diagnosis of the command information system (CIS) wire communication link.
