Fire Safety

Considering the importance of fire safety and protection, the hospital building shall be designed to easily deal with such emergencies and avoid any untoward fire incidence. While designing a hospital building, the issues related to fire detection and fighting to be considered can be like, compartmentalization of the hospital building; providing open spaces; fire resistant doors; pressurization of lift lobbies, lift wells, and staircases; providing refuge area, smoke ventilation system, fire dampers & fire hydrants, automatic sprinkler system, fire alarm system, public address system, atomatic detection system, manual call point, fire fighting appliances, alternate power supply shall be provided and signage for easy evacuation.
