Blood Bank
摘要
A Blood Bank is a critical facility where blood is collected, tested, separated into components, stored, and prepared for transfusion to patients. It should be easily accessible, especially during emergencies. Controlled by specific acts and authorities in different countries, Blood Banks have four main functional areas: (1) Receiving area with entrance, reception, registration, waiting, medical examination, bleeding, apheresis room, and recovery/rest rooms; (2) Testing area with serology and transferable disease labs; (3) Storage area for blood components; and (4) Distribution area with issue counters. Utility spaces like change rooms, record rooms, and toilets should also be adequately designed for flooring, lighting, ventilation, and equipment.
