Inception of the Idea

Hospital planning begins with the promoter’s idea of setting up the hospital. Key questions regarding the hospital’s why, where, when, size, purpose, philosophy, inheritance, and status should be addressed by the promoter based on assessments, surveys, and documentation. The next steps involve preparing the Feasibility Report and the Detailed Project Report (DPR). Surveys should be conducted to analyze patient feeding area, nearby hospitals, population, occupation, per capita income, paying capacity, and availability of trained manpower. Geographical details should then be collected to select the location, considering factors like proposed location, approach roads, public transport, distance from railway station, airport, and bus station. Facilities at the proposed location, such as electricity and water supply, drainage system, fire station, and police station, should also be assessed. Once all assessments are positive, the planning and designing phase commences.
