Operation Theatre Suite

An Operating Theatre (O.T.) is a sterile environment where surgical procedures and invasive interventions take place. All personnel wear protective clothing to prevent the spread of germs. The O.T. complex is divided into four zones: an unsterile zone for administrative tasks, a protective zone with changing rooms and pre-operative wards, a clean zone for staff facilities, and a sterile zone with supply rooms and operating theatres. The complex should have separate entry and exit doors for one-way movement. Various types of O.R.s, including simple, pre-fabricated, and modular designs, are considered. Designers must consider room sizes, infrastructure, furniture, HVAC, equipment, interiors, signage, and more.
