Outpatient Department
摘要
The Outpatient Department (OPD) in a hospital provides consultation to ambulatory patients without overnight stays. Ideally located on the ground floor with a separate entry, the number of OPDs required depends on factors like physician count, expected patients, and consultation duration. Essential spaces include reception, waiting areas, doctors’ chambers, examination and treatment rooms, and support facilities. Design considerations involve room sizes, door and window design, furniture, electrical points, and interior aesthetics. Special attention is given to infectious disease protocols, emphasizing distancing measures like during Covid-19. Proper signage and wayfinding are also essential for smooth patient flow in the OPD unit.
