Perception and Usage of Open Electronic Resources Among the Research Scholars: A Prospect in the Digital Era

In today’s academic scenario, ‘perception’ about these resources and their adequate ‘usage’ by faculties, students, and research scholars is considered to be an important parameter of academic progress. This survey was conducted on research scholars’ perception and usage of Open Electronic Resources (OER) in the Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University of Odisha. Total 134 questionnaires were distributed among the research scholars of all disciplines. There are total no of 79 regular scholars. The researcher has taken all the regular scholars and the response received from 66 (84%). Besides that the researcher has also included the part-time scholars to obtain qualitative cum quantitative result for the present study. Fifty-five questionnaires have been distributed to the part-time scholars, out of which 22 (40%) has been responded. The distribution of sample table of scholars’ part time and full time thus taken the total responded samples 88, out of which 66 (75%) from the full time and 22 (25%) from part time. The motto of using the Open Educational Resources is easy to access the online materials, to empower the online education. The study explore that Open Educational Access has become a major source of data sharing, as it provides timely access to data anywhere in the globe without dimensional barrier.
