Firstly, it enhances soil structure by improving aggregation and aeration, thus promoting root growth and water infiltration. Secondly, vermicompost serves as a valuable source of essential plant nutrients, including nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and micro-nutrients. Its slow-release properties ensure a steady supply of nutrients to plants, reducing the need for synthetic fertilizers and minimizing nutrient runoff, which can be harmful to water bodies. Vermicompost also plays a crucial role in pH regulation, helping to buffer soil pH toward a neutral range, which is favorable for most crops.
