From the end of the Spring and Autumn Period to the Warring States Period, Chinese society experienced a sharp upheaval, social hierarchy gradually collapsed, conflicts among vassal states became more frequent, various interest groups fought against each other, different schools of thought contended with each other, the ideological and cultural circles became unprecedentedly active, and the book industry enjoyed the first prosperous period in Chinese history.
