Advances in Long-Term/Long-Lasting Treatment of Chronic Pain
摘要
Chronic pain is a disrupting disease with a high risk of recurring, and can cause serious costs not only on finance but also mental for people. The present treatment of chronic pain like neuropathic pain, osteoarthritis, and headache in clinical mainly relies on pharmacological ease like TCAs, NSAIDs, and opioids. However, the specific pathology changes and worse prognosis make it more refractory than nociceptive pain or nociplastic pain. Therefore, it might be more constructive to seek superior treatment. Recently the therapy is more inclined to be long-lasting due to the frequent recurrence of chronic pain. Extended-released drug delivery shows advantages with the longer duration and safety, providing more convenience to patients. In addition, new targets for chronic pain like antibodies to CGRP also exhibit extraordinary treatment effects in clinical. In this review, we summarized the present therapy of chronic pain and discussed new targets and drug deliveries in the aspect of long-term treatment, which could provide an alternative idea to optimize the therapies with higher efficiency, lower adverse effects, and more special emphasis compared to conventional analgesics.
