With the northerners’ confidence and material support securely in place, the SKWP resumed its infiltration operations and guerrilla warfare against the South Korean military throughout the summer of 1949. The SKWP moved all of its units to major mountains in the southern provinces of the Korean Peninsula and coerced villagers to “collect and hand over all weapons in sight.”
