Dhat Syndrome in Indian Traditional Medicine
摘要
Dhat syndrome is a psychosomatic condition primarily observed in South Asian cultures, characterized by the belief that excessive loss of seminal fluid leads to physical and psychological distress. This essay delves into the traditional underpinnings of Dhat syndrome, focusing on its historical origins, cultural context, and the impact of sociocultural factors on the manifestation and treatment of this condition. By examining ancient texts, traditional beliefs, and cultural practices, we aim to shed light on the complex interplay between tradition, cultural norms, and mental health in the context of Dhat syndrome.
