Exploring Spatial Arrangements in an Office Space Through Daylighting Analysis of Shading Device: An Experimental Simulation Model
摘要
The paper explores spatial arrangement of workspace through daylighting analysis and shading devices. Study considers only daylight as a factor to determine spatial efficiency of a workspace and no other factors like thermal comfort and psychological factors. Daylight simulation of an office space prototype and an architectural studio has been done using Autodesk Ecotect software. The simulation of office space has considered variables as types of windows and time of the day, constant being the size of the opening. Further for architectural studio, only variable considered is time. Results have been derived via graphs and tabular format. The simulation result provides zones like; high work efficiency zone, less work efficiency zone due to lack of daylight, less efficiency zone due to excessive daylight, and glare affected zone.
