Composite Capsule Tube for Underwater System

摘要

The usage of composite materials in aerospace, naval, automobile, civil sectors has increased due to their high specific strength, high specific stiffness, and design tailoring capability of composite plies. The capsule tube with large length-to-diameter ratio is designed with carbon/epoxy composite plies and analysed by finite element software. The joining of tube with subsequent sections is also configured for easy assembly. Different load scenarios are studied for housing the launch system inside the capsule and storing in the underwater till the launch mass is ejected out. An optimum structure with better structural performance, mass benefit is designed to cater all the feasibilities and constraints.
