Aesthetic Methodology of Traditional Chinese Aesthetics

The aesthetic methodology of traditional Chinese aesthetics is suffused with the essence and morphology of beauty. Chinese aesthetics believes that the “beauty” of the object is “a taste,” and aesthetic appreciation is “beauty-tasting.” “Taste” is not only the object of the five senses of pleasure, but also the object of spiritual pleasure. Therefore, “beauty-tasting” should not only awaken the five sense organs, but also accumulate rational judgment.
