On Aesthetic Characteristics of Traditional Chinese Aesthetics

If there is the beauty of the object, there is the beauty of the subject. The spirit of traditional Chinese aesthetics is indeed mainly based on the understanding of the noumenon and form of “beauty” in ancient Chinese Confucianism, Taoism, Buddhism, and art, as well as the basic views on the sense of beauty in ancient China. The basic concern in ancient Chinese aesthetic theory is the characteristics of aesthetic sense, which involves the pleasure, intuition, objectivity, subjectivity, and authenticity of beauty.
