Shell-mould castingShell-mould casting is a variation of sand casting. Here, the mould is made of a mixture of dried silica sand and phenolic resin, formed into thin, half-mould shells, which are clamped together for pouring purposes. It is also known as Croning or C process after the name of its inventor J. Croning.
