Types and Sign of Child Sexual Abuse
摘要
Purposeful and unintentional child mistreatment/abuse both comeunder the umbrella of public health. Child abuse is a global health issue that has a number of terrible effects on victims, their families, and society as a whole. Although young people in their late teens and early 20 s are included in the pediatric population, child abuse and neglect only apply to children and teenagers under the age of 18. Several studies have employed the severity index and ordinal categories to categorize abuse features (e.g., unwanted genital breast touching, being compelled to touch the genitalia of another, oral-genital sex). Globally, up to 17% of boys and 31% of girls are thought to be affected by the experience of childhood sexual assault. This is only based on physical harm; it does not take into account psychological, emotional, or cognitive impacts on mental health. Neglect, physical indications, sexual signals, emotional or verbal signs, and others are all indicators of child abuse. The American Professional Society on Abuse of Children (APSAC) and FRAMEA provide numerous measures to combat emotional abuse. The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) advises assessing for underlying family tensions such as parental mental disorder, chemical abuse, and violent behavior, as well as asking the verbally disabled patient about interactions with their parents and carers. These steps can help doctors identify patients who are at high risk of developing serious health problems. The chapter concludes that children need to be aware of these types of sexual abuse so as to understand the issue in a deeper way and recommends that development of awareness programs should be organized by the government, through social as well as educational departments to enhance knowledge of different varieties of abuse in society and raise awareness of the different parameters of self-defense regarding any exploitation.
