Unveiling the Truth: Understanding Child Abuse
摘要
The well-being and development of children are seriously threatened by child abuse: a widespread global problem. This chapter gives a general review of child abuse, including its causes, effects, and treatments. It explores many types of child abuse, such as physical, sexual, emotional, and negligent maltreatment, and their prevalence in diverse cultural contexts, by taking a holistic approach. The effects of child abuse on a child’s physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development are extensive. Abuse victims frequently endure a variety of short- and long-term consequences, such as bodily harm, emotional discomfort, harmed interpersonal connections, academic challenges, and increased susceptibility to mental illnesses. If suitable interventions are not put in place, the cycle of abuse may continue for generations.
