Raising Awareness and Empathy About Child Sexual Abuse (CSA) is Crucial in Advancing New Public Health Measures

One in eight children will experience child sexual abuse, which can have serious health repercussions like depression, unintended pregnancies, and HIV. The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act 2015 is one of India’s many robust child protection laws. The UNCRC is ratified by India. The goal of India’s policy in response to child abuse and exploitation is for all Indian children to feel safe and secure in all environments and situations. Policymakers must tackle challenging issues such as child sexual abuse which are covert, sensitively complex, and generally problematic. The chapter’s analysis of the literature serves as proof of this. This chapter offers ground-breaking suggestions for advancing humanity. Through a creative multidisciplinary analysis from the psychology, social sciences, public health, neurology, and medical fields, the necessary strategies are made clear. The chapter finds that two prerequisites for progress are increased knowledge of CSA and sympathetic reaction to its sufferers. An ecological model that takes into account societal, institutional, and individual dimensions is used to accomplish this.
