Child Sexual Abuse in India and Suggested Measures to Address It: An Overview

Child sexual abuse (CSA) is a complex and pervasive problem that affects millions of children around the world. India, in particular, has been identified as a high-risk country for CSA due to factors such as poverty, gender inequality, and inadequate child protection systems. Despite increased attention and efforts to address the issue, CSA remains a significant challenge in India, with many cases going unreported and survivors facing significant barriers to accessing support and justice. The purpose of this study is to examine the prevalence of CSA in India and to suggest measures to prevent and address this issue. To achieve this goal, done extensive review of various literatures related CSA and drawn conclusion. This study is significant because it sheds light on an issue that is often hidden and stigmatized in Indian society. By exploring the perspectives and experiences of children and stakeholders, Ultimately, the goal is to create a safer and more supportive environment for children in India, one in which their rights are protected, and their well-being is prioritized.
