Study of PWM Performance for Five-Level Active Neutral Point Clamped Inverter
摘要
Active Neutral Point Clamped (ANPC) converter is widely used in low- and medium-voltage applications. However, the converter has the drawback of unbalanced capacitor’s voltage. The controlling scheme implemented is Carrier-based Sine PWM (CBSPWM) and focuses on voltage balancing on the flying capacitor (FC). The paper will study the distribution of thermal loss on the switches, using Silicon (Si) IGBT and Silicon Carbide (SiC) MOSFET switches and comparing the efficiency between them. The paper will also study the THD of the output voltage.
