Study of Sr,Ba3Si6O3N8:Eu phosphor for Improving Color Quality of White Light-Emitting Diodes

摘要

Sr,Ba3Si6O3N8:Eu (SrEu) phosphors, which emit green color after activation, are made via a solid-state process. Their optical characteristics have been modified to work well with WLEDs. Two approaches to fine-tuning these material’s spectra, both excitation and emission, have been discovered. One approach is to change the host lattice’s Sr2+/Ba2+ ion ratio. Controlling the europium concentration is another alternative strategy. With SrEu, the phosphor sample’s luminous brightness is maximized. When Sr2+ is replaced by Ba2+ while maintaining the crystal configuration of Sr3Si6O3N8 as the primary, a cooperative effect in photoluminescence (PL) intensity is shown. Due to the 4f−5d transitions, a favourite in InGaN chip implementation, the phosphor specimen’s excitation spectrum is expanded, making it well-suited for use in InGaN chips. Furthermore, an emission wavelength may be readily adjusted to a highest level at 538 nm with a half maximum width of 77 nm. Heat-dependent PL intensity shows a minor thermal suppression. This green-colored oxynitride phosphor is believed to be applied as a solid lighting source in the foreseeable future.
