摘要

The blockchain is a shared ledger where all members can write and maintain records as well as transactions. It claims to be a dependable new resource of knowledge on the current state of Agri farms, stock, as well as contracts in the field of agriculture, wherever gathering similar information is frequently quite costly. By tracking food’s origin, blockchain technology aids in the foundation of dependable eatable supply chains as well as confidence among manufacturers and consumers. It makes it easier to apply data-driven technology to improve farming because it is a reliable method of data storage. Furthermore, when combined with smart contracts, it enables regular payments among interested parties that may be provoked by new data inside the blockchain. This chapter examines the applicability of blockchain technology in food supply chains, crop insurance, precision agriculture, and agriculture product transactions from the perspectives of both theory and practice. We also discuss the challenges of recording farm owner transactions and creating a blockchain-based ecosystem for the food as well as agriculture industries.
