Precision agriculture has emerged as a vital approach in modern farming, with the objective of optimizing crop yields while minimizing environmental impact. The precise and efficient application of agrochemicals is an important aspect of precision agriculture. Pesticide use at the right time and place can reduce global food loss by 45%. Traditional agrochemical application methods are frequently inefficient, including chemical overuse, uneven distribution, and labor-intensive processes. In contrast, the drone spraying system, which is equipped with advanced GPS and imaging technology, enables precise targeting, variable rate application, and rapid deployment. It not only reduces chemical waste but also saves chemicals, water, time, and money. It also reduces human exposure to hazardous substances while seamlessly integrating with data analytics platforms for monitoring and analysis. Furthermore, by reducing chemical runoff, the drone spraying system contributes to environmental sustainability, making it a promising tool for increasing crop yields, profitability, and ecological responsibility in modern agriculture. However, proper understanding of operation of drone spraying system and its evaluation are important to utilize this technology in real field. Therefore, this chapter discusses the utility of drone spraying system, step-by-step operational procedure, and its evaluation process in terms of droplet characteristics and biological efficacy in agricultural field.
