Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy

A 58-year-old man with a history of hypertension was found unconscious at his home for an unknown duration of time. He was noted to have pulseless electrical activity (PEA) by the time of arrival of paramedics. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was initiated and return of spontaneous circulation was achieved in 12 min. Subsequently, he was transferred to our hospital for further care.
