A 233-Bit Elliptic Curve Processor for IoT Applications
摘要
ECC is the most popular asymmetric cipher. It can be used to provide different security services in the IoT applications. This paper presents a low-resource 233-bit ECC processor. It utilizes a hybrid karatsuba multiplier and quad-Itoh-Tsuji algorithm for the inversion. The processor is synthesized using PlanAhead software and implemented on Virtex-5 FPGA. On comparison with the existing designs, the implemented design improves from 2.25 to 57 percent in terms of resource consumption. Though the design is resource-constrained with 28,438 LUTs and 9838 slices but the maximum frequency for the design is 76.7 MHz.
