Secure Authentication Scheme for IoT Enabled Smart Homes
摘要
The Internet of Things (IoT) is currently gaining popularity due to the increasing active online device usage. The success of IoT integration is dependent on the authentication mechanism. Recently, attacker capabilities have been upgraded, and current authentication mechanisms are vulnerable to many network attacks. The study describes that a lightweight authentication protocol is required for the smart home environment. IoT may encompass numerous aspects of the smart environment. As a result, the authentication scheme for communicating entities has drawn considerable interest. This paper presents a technique for authenticating home devices when they are accessed from a remote location. Our proposed scheme presents a proposed authentication protocol for IoT-based smart homes that protects and authenticates both the user and network devices. Additionally, we also provide informal and formal security analysis using the AVISPA validation tool. Moreover, the proposed method is compared to other existing approaches in terms of communication and computation costs.
